This is the third painting in the Soul Series. These paintings, more than any other in The Broken Crayon Collection, invites you to define the meaning of a piece. People see widely differing things in them. Some see sky and water. I see the transitions between colors here as a representation of the soul’s progression through its many phases of growth, within one lifetime and across many. Some transitions are choppy and messy, others sharp and clean, still others, imperceptible.
